Pacific galleries are one of the more crowded malls of the central zone of the city. The building deserves to be visited for its beautiful installations and due to it magnificent dome, with murals decorated by Argentinian artists like Antonio Berni, Lino Enea Spilimbergo, Demetrio Urruchúa y Juan Carlos Castagnino.
The galleries are located at the neighbourhood of San Nicolas and it was built by the architects Emilio Agrelo y Raúl Le Levacher in 1889. The building was abandoned many years, by it was recovered in 1990 to convert it in a mall. Currently is one of the most important malls in the city and it also hosts Borges Cultural centre. Inside the mall, you will find the most expensive international and local brands. There is also a book store and a food court. You can also find some expositions from different artists in the cultural centre (usually free).
Pacific galleries are usually visited by many tourists since it's close to many hotels and it sits on the Florida street. Beyond its commercial function, the building is very attractive due to its history and architecture. The building was declared a Historical Monument by the nation. The mall is open at the following hours:
- Monday to Saturday: 10 am to 9 pm
- Sunday from 12 pm (midday) to 9 pm
- Food court: Monday to Sunday from 10 am to 10 pm.
