How to get to the roses garden?
“Rosedal” or the roses garden of Palermo is a place very is to get by using any of the following buses:
12, 15, 29, 36, 37, 39, 41, 55, 57, 59, 60, 64, 67, 68, 93, 95, 102, 108, 111, 118, 124, 128, 130, 152, 160, 161, 166, 188.
The Rosedal is close to “Plaza Italia” (Italia Park).
If you don’t want to take a bus, you can take any taxi and they will know how to get you there.
You can also use the Subway “D” (Green) up to the Plaza Italia station, and from there you have to walk 10 squares.
Very important! Monday is closed!
Open hours depends on the seasons of the year.
Summer hours (from 22nd Sept to 21st April)
The park is open from 8 am to 8 pm, you will be allowed to enter up to 7 pm. Mondays are always closed to the public.
Every day except Monday from 8 am to 6 pm, you are allowed to enter up to 5 pm.
The following days will be closed:
1st Jan, 1st May, 20th July, 21th Sept, 8th Nov and 24, 25 and 21 Dec.
If the weather conditions are bad the park will be also closed.
You can rent boats to use in the Rosedal Lake for two or more people. You can rent them from 30 up to 1 hour.
The plastic arts museum Sivori is very close to the Rosedale, just passing by the greek bridge. You can see important artworks from national and international artists. We also recommend having a coffee in the garden of this museum!.
This is a must do in Buenos Aires, especially if you are visiting during the spring. The park has around 3 to 4 hectares and it has around 18.000 roses between many artworks. The park also has around 26 busts of famous poets and writers, the greek bridge and the patio Andaluz. Rosedale was declared cultural heritage by the city of Buenos Aires at 14th April 2011 and because of this, the park will maintain it’s original status.
At 2012 and also at 2014 it obtains an international distinction from Garden Excellence of world society of roses. Some of the roses variety are: Elina La sevillana Johan Strauss Charles Aznavour * Frederic Mistral
Between the busts, you can find Dante Alighieri con Jorge Luis Borges, Antonio Machado y Federico García Lorca con Alfonsina Storni and others.
Remember rosedal is a must visit place in Buenos Aires!
